Not a great start in the workshop today, 1 failed project, but went on to a couple of forge welds, a quick keyring and this handle for the workshop door from some 15mm mild steel. A good day of learning from the disappointments.
This bar required drawing out to the required diameter, one end splitting and flaring out to mount to the vertical edge of the door, bends to achieve the finger depth and one flattened end to secure to the door’s horizontal brace. Then 3 holes punched and counter sunk, then sealed with wax while still hot.
No drills or machine tools were used, made 100% with traditional blacksmiths tools and techniques.
